Just in time for the summer weather, Bright Breaks customers can now run step challenges just for their organization directly in the Bright Breaks app. Step challenges are a key component of corporate wellness strategy, especially for remote teams. Knowing this, we’ve been busy at work delivering this highly-requested feature.

Step challenges are a great way to engage your remote organization in a wellness activity without needing to align schedules or arrange physical locations to meet. Employees can participate asynchronously across time zones while being motivated by one live leaderboard for all colleagues. 

Foster connection as employees engage with each other in communication channels cheering on their colleagues. Team step challenges enhance the benefit of connection further, inspiring teams to strategize together to be successful in reaching the top of the leaderboard.

Automatic Step Tracking

 

Step challenge participants can easily connect Apple Health and Google Connect to the Bright Breaks mobile app and automatically log their steps in their organization’s live leaderboard. 

Have employees that need to manually log steps? There is an option for participants to submit step counts manually themselves should your organization wish for this to be available. 

We can hear your sigh of relief if you’ve run a challenge in the past where you’ve collected step counts from participants manually! Bright Breaks will do this work for you.

 

Live Step Counting Leaderboard

 

Once your company’s step challenge begins, steps of all of those who participate will be logged in a live leaderboard in real time, providing the ultimate motivating resource for all involved. 

Watch as participants rank in the leaderboard for screenshot-worthy updates to rally participants and encourage wider participation.

Team or Individual Step Challenge Options

Participants can compete as individuals or create teams to inspire collaboration to win. 

Manually assign teams to spark friendly competition between departments or groups of your choice or select the random team selection to break down communication silos and connect employees across departments.

Challenges need winners, of course! Here are a few ideas on how to determine who wins: 

  • Reward the top steppers
  • Set a step target for duration of the challenge and enter all who reach it into a random draw
  • Treat each step (or each 1,000 steps) as an entry into a random draw

Gift cards seem to be the most popular prizes for all wellness challenges, however wellness credit with your organization’s insurance provider or points in a recognition system are great ideas as well.
